Entitlement of regular holiday for daily paid workers

Hi,

Am just confused? Are daily paid workers entitled for a regular holiday pay (National Heroes Day - Last Sunday of Aug) even if they did not advise to report for work. or not an overtime for them? s this applied also for monthly paid workers?

Please advise.

yes, they are entitled for one day holiday pay

pero that only applies to regular employment status, right? and not on contractual or probational status?

What is a holiday pay?

Holiday pay is the premium given to an employee, pursuant to law, even if he did not work on a regular holiday. An employee is entitled to 100% of his basic wage, even if he did not work during such regular holiday. He is entitled to 200% of his basic pay, if he worked in such day. (Art. 94)

^ pero hindi ba ang employee na tinutukoy sa sa labor code ay regular employees? kasi bakit sa mismong government offices no work no pay on holidays ang contractual employees?

only regular employees are entitled to special holiday pay (declared holiday)..but all employees of any status are entitled to Legal Holiday pay (red in calendar).

it depends kung ano status ng employees na sinasabi ng thread starter.if these are regular employees, (meaning, have worked for more than six months on a continuous basis) then they are entitled for the holiday pay.

Based on my personal experience, basta legal holiday, kahit contractual or nasa probationary status pa lang, entitled na for the holiday pay (double pay pag pumasok, 100% pay pag di pumasok- pero dapat hindi ka absent the days before and after said holiday.  Pag off or restday naman, ok lang din).

kapag regular holiday automatic with pay yan, pero kung papareportin natin for work definitely dapat double pay.
