This is not to disapoint you but to give you warnings in regards with these franchising thing. I am a franchisee 2 yrs ago, my foodcart was located at one of the major malls in mandaluyong and just for respect, i would not name names of who was my franchiser nor my franchised foocart. To begin with, i bought my franchised foodcart for about 300k all inclusive of all the equipments to be use together with its initial inventory. I put my cart inside the mall and i paid 2 months advance of 80k, water meter deposit of 5k, power meter deposit of 8k, 3 months rent of 120k as security deposit, business permit amounting to 10k, bir and etc amounting to 1500 and to sum it all, my total investment was 500k plus. Believe me, I was in heaven during the opening and the first few weeks of my business but it was all pailed out on its 2nd month, until i learned that i have no more working capital in my business bank account and just for my cart to continue its operation, i occasionaly put some of my personal money to the business. That process continues until my foodcart business left me empty handed. That foodcart business ruined my financial status. Now, i am striving hard to furnish the money i lost to that foodcart business of mine. Now, i am giving you the chance to reflet and make a detailed fisibility studies to any business venture before giving your precious hard earned money to them.
kindly ask how much royalty, advertising fee, miscellaneous fees etc that the franchisee will be collecting, know the details of your monthly rent, its location, foot traffic and your product itself. You know guys, foodcart nowadays is just the bread and butter of most franchisers to acccumulate more capital for themeselves, for their expansion and you are not one of their expansion because you are their victim and they are your prey, so better watch out. Who benefited most when they advertise for their franchise program? Ask yourself about it, it might just help you save more than doing business with them.
