As the local economy gets worse and worse, migration is an option many Pinoys consider.  However, the US is cracking down hard on visa violators and overstaying tourists.  Here's an interesting article that lists the FIVE easiest ways to migrate to the United States legally.  Method 5 is the most common, it is also the hardest of the five methods.

Is there any way to speed up number 5? I am a married child of my American Citizen parents. The priority date of my "petition" is November 1998.  But it seems that the processing of these "petitions" are now frozen.

Five years ago, the priority date that the US Embassy here in Manila is processing was 1991. Today, year 2008, it is still 1991 that is being processed.

I am hoping that when the Democrats win the November election, processing of the immigration applications shall be speeded up.

I wanna try my luck in the good ole USA!

matagal talaga lolo pag married child of us citizens.

yung sister ni hubby merong same petition as yours, but it's taking so long nga, so, what the husband did was study nursing, and kakagraduate nya last march--since second course, he was able to complete it in less than 3 years... RN na sya and has passed other required exams na rin. wala syang clinical experience dito but i think he got lucky and is bound for ny next month. if all is well, he will be able to get his family by this time next year.. so.. there.. gusto mo mag narsing, lolo? heheheh
