Annual income tax returns for new companies

Hi, I'm just wondering if it is necessary for a newly formed company (corporation) to file an annual income tax return on it's first year (or until they make profit)? Say they incorporated early on before completing the development of their product and is still not making any money.

Once you are registered with the BIR, you have to file income tax return whether you have income or none at all.
