Inspired by the success of public lockers in South Korea and Japan, financial officer Leardo Joson Jr. decided to bring the business to Manila.

Lock and Leave, which was established in November 2015, first tried to offer its services in shopping malls. However, he found it difficult to convince the country’s biggest mall operator. He was able to set up shop in Glorietta mall in Makati City but had to go through a rigorous process to convince the mall of the business’ promise.

“I feel there’s a great potential in this, but educating the market about it remains a challenge,” Joson said.

These days, the business is thriving from an unlikely source: events and concerts. Since 2015, the business has been part of 20 events, including conferences, rave parties and even cosplay events. In the video, Joson further explains how the business is doing and what his plans are for the venture.
