
Homegrown Chef Tony's Popcorn is seeking overseas expansion and selling its shares to the public in the mid-term.
Antonio Elepano or Chef Tony himself told Entrepreneur.com.ph during the recent Entrepreneur Networking Night that its plans for the gourmet popcorn business is to put up outlets in Southeast Asia.
Presently, a distribution partnership is being threshed out in Singapore and in Guam. Chef Tony's Popcorn has 50 outlets in the Philippines.
It is also setting its sights on Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and Japan.
Chef Tony's Popcorn has recently partnered with Delivery21 for a more efficient delivery system for the customers' convenience.
Another project is the Chef Tony's confection which sells chocolates.
In five years' time, Elepano said, Chef Tony's Popcorn may list in the Philippine Stock Exchange through an initial public offering.
Elepano said franchising is not among the options being considered by the company to expand but the major plan for the year includes relocation of five of its outlets nationwide.
