We are proud to present the 2009 selections for Entrepreneur’s Annual Franchise Awards, the fourth since the magazine launched the program in 2006 to recognize exemplary franchise practices and to help raise the standards for franchising in the Philippines.

It must be noted that the period during which the awardees recorded outstanding achievements was characterized by intense business competition, and was done in the midst of the worst global economic crisis since the Great Depression.

A total of 28 franchises made it to the list of awardees in the five competition categories, namely “Best Local Franchises,” “Best Foreign Franchises,” “Most Promising Franchises,” “Fastest Growing Franchises,” and “Best in Franchising Support.”

The franchises were rated based on their business viability, system stability, growth potential, and extent of franchisee support. A total of 146 franchises made it to the prequalifying round from out of the 300-plus franchises in Entrepreneur’s database.
