When they started: Gimenez started his business after World War II and started franchising in 1998.
Why they made it big: It all started when Maximo Gimenez decided to open a café in Quezon City after World War II which catered to American Troops stationed in the Philippines, it initially offered coffee and drinks then it served chicken steak. They formulated a chicken recipe that kept the soldiers coming back for more, and steadily increasing their menu with Filipino delicacies.
