4 reasons for considering a radio personality as an endorser

May 23, 2011

Radio personality Nicole Hyala, who has entertained millions of Filipino listeners with her five-year-old radio program “Tambalang Balahura at Balasubas,” has recently signed up as the newest member in the roster Aquaquest endorsers.

Nicole Hyala joins the Aquaquest group just as the company, which is under GQWEST, Inc., is expanding nationwide. Aquaquest utilizes an advanced multi-stage filtration process coupled with Reverse Osmosis Technology that effectively screens out impurities and contaminants in the water. Aquaquest is committed to producing the best water while at the same time giving its customers value for money and top notch service.

What are the virtues of getting a radio personality when a business takes on a nationwide expansion?
GQWEST Inc President Carson Tan tells Entrepreneur.com.ph the company's four reasons for choosing Nicole Hyala as an Aquaquest endorser.

1. Popularity
Endorsements are a popularity contest. The more popular the endorser, the more people can recognize the face and the brand that is being endorsed. And radio jocks have a wide reach with their FM stations.

2. Connection to the masa
Her radio program had millions of listeners, most of which belonged to the masa. Her masa appeal was undeniable as her catchy phrases have become part of pop culture.  Nicole Hyala, Emmylou Gaite in real life, began in radio as a traffic reporter for his current on air partner Chris Tsuper’s previous radio show.

3. Humor
Her then radio show, “Tambalang Balahura at Balasubas” did not only provide traffic updates and the latest headlines, it also provided comic relief to her listeners, especially cab and bus drivers who were caught in the morning rush hour traffic.

 4. Excitement
Hyala proved that she was made for the job when she invented phrases like “nakakalerkei” and “trulaloo at walang halong eclavou,” which the masa immediately embraced.

GQWEST Inc is the parent company of brands like Aquabest, Laundrybest, Aquaspree, Laundryquest, and the 3 in 1 Combostore.

Nicole Hyala contract signing
Popular radio DJ Nicole Hyala signs on as the new endorser for Aquaquest, as GQWEST’s (L to R) Gio Bogasan Business Development Department Manager, Joel Cruz Marketing and Communications Manager, Peter Mendoza Franchise Operations Officer, and Nicole’s manager Chris Cahilig looks on. Aquaquest is GQWEST’s alternative purified water refilling station concept.
