Cheaper rates supported by telcos

Jul 05, 2011

The three telecommunication giants in the country supported the National Telecommunications Commission's move to bring down interconnection charges, according to a report on the Malaya.

The proposal will bring down charges on voice calls from its current rate of P4 down to P2 per minute, while SMS rates will be reduced by P0.10 from P0.35.

With lower rates, an entrepreneur no longer has to keep two or three mobile phones in order to reach a broader market base. Even if an entrepreneur has to cater to three different kinds of mobile phone, it will no longer be as expensive as maintaining three mobile phones to simply connect to clients from all three telecom companies.
