Part-time business idea: Bartender
Nov 14, 2011
Do you like mixing drinks and socializing with people? It’s never too late to start making extra cash from your interests. And if shifting careers is too daunting for you, do it on the sidelines. You can do events on the weekends and on holidays. All you have to do is just get the word out there and start!
What will I be doing?
Mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and suggesting to guests what drink is best for a particular food
What will I need to start?
A cocktail shaker and a jigger (P350 for a 0.3-liter cocktail shaker; P155 for a 60-ml jigger) that you may buy from Gourdo’s Specialty Food and Cookware. You’ll also need ice buckets, jugs, electric blenders, bowls, knives, corkscrews, stirrers, toothpicks, straws, and a chopping board. You can use your own or buy a new set from your local department store. Divisoria is also a great place to buy equipment. Click to find out where to get supplies in Divisoria.
Who will my customers be?
People hosting private parties and hotels hiring extra bartenders during the holidays. It’s a good idea to team up with catering firms like Alba Restaurant and Catering Services; contact them at (02) 896.6950 or The Plaza Kitchen at (02) 817.2207.
How much should I charge?
Fees can range from P1,500 to P3,000 for about five hours’ work at a party. You should also determine your extension fee as many parties last longer than expected
