Upgrade your business through technology

Aug 01, 2012

As an entrepreneur, you cannot expand your business significantly without upgrading the technology you use for your company.Technology upgrades will help you effectively manage day-to-day operations and give you the chance to look at the overall picture.

Microsoft Philippines recently awarded the winners of its “Upgrade My Business” Promo, which allows Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to gain access to Microsoft’s latest products for free. The winning companies were Palawan Adventist Hospital, Furniture Contractors, and PC Health Computer Sales and Services of Tacloban City, placing first, second and third respectively.

“Microsoft has always empowered start-ups and small and medium businesses through cutting-edge technologies, enabling them to manage and grow their organizations in today’s knowledge economy. I would like to congratulate our three winners for joining the promo and for getting the chance to take their businesses to the next level with Microsoft technologies,” said John Bessey, Managing Director, Microsoft Philippines.

Emerging as the top winner is Palawan Adventist Hospital.  Built in the late 70’s, it has been providing quality healthcare by delivering reliable and efficient services through committed, well-trained staff and state-of-the-art medical facilities.

“We are very happy to be chosen as one of the winners of Microsoft’s Upgrade My Business Promo, much more be awarded first place. We realized that we needed a strong and updated IT infrastructure to help support our business needs, most especially in managing and keeping the files of our patients. We needed to upgrade our system to meet our daily requirements in the hospital’s operations.  We are very grateful that Microsoft has chosen us to get the upgrade that we really need,” said Dr. Melvyn Orbe, President, Palawan Adventist Hospital.

The hospital will receive a server equipped with Small Business Server Essentials, two laptops with Windows 7 OS, 10 Office 2010 Pro Plus and a P40,000 office Makeover Package.

Placing second is Furniture Contractors, a family-owned furniture manufacturing business that lost its entire IT infrastructure to a fire a few years ago.  The third place winner is PC Health Computer Sales and Services in Tacloban City that lacked the right facilities for its clients, project development and the services they offer.

The “Upgrade My Business” Promo is part of Microsoft’s “Transform Your Business” Campaign that showcases products and solutions, which include Windows 7, Office 2010, Windows Server and System Center. The campaign serves as an avenue for Microsoft to help fellow Filipinos make smart investments to continuously sustain productivity and growth.
