Hi everyone. I would like to know what are the standard operating procedures applied by our local malls regarding sa credit card purchases? My husband's credit card was stolen po kasi and we have submitted na a dispute letter but still after the investigation he was held liable pa din kahit forged ung signature. Ngaun po gusto ko managot ang mga negligent cashiers na palaging nalulusutan ng mga magnanakaw. I've talked to an SM supervisor and she told me na kapag 5 thousand above humihingi pa cla approval sa bank but 5 thousand below ni hindi raw cla humihingi ng id to compare the signature at mukha ng cardholder, di daw nila SOP un, basta nag-ok daw sa machine ok na ung transactions huh! Kaya pala palgi nakaklusot mananakaw sa kanila. Dalhin ko na lang daw ung transaction receipts na nirequest ko sa bank bk daw me makikitang butas na cla tlga ang me kasalanan. Naturalesa ipagtatanggol nila empleado nila. Pls. help namn po. tnx.

naka-hold na sya pero after the investigation liable pa din daw kmi, ang bilis nga ng desisyon parang kunwari lang na pinagpasa kmi ng dispute letter pero me instant decision n kaagad. Masyado silang biased at swapang kaya paninindigan talaga namin n hindi bayaran.

make a letter informing the credit card company that you lost the card and advise them to hold it, let them received your letter, para may proof ka na naadvise mo yon sa kanila, provide an affidavit of loss and ask assistance of a lawyer.

Hi, Bankard Visa. We've reported it na and then after ilang days we've submitted to them a letter of dispute containing the whole details of how it was lost. Around 7 am nangyari n nalaslasan ng bag ung asawa ko but 5PM n na-report kasi nung morning pagting nya work nilagay na nya sa locker ung bag without noticing na nalaslasan pala sya kc the slash was inside the pocket of his bag. So cut the story short, nagamit na ng magnanakaw ung credit card between 11AM-1:00PM. So sbi nga ng Bankard liale daw kmi due to late reporting.

You should confront them face-to-face.  Sometimes if you only deal with them via phone, you will encounter only a staff that has no decision-making capability and is usually involved only in dealing with minimizing company losses rather than customer relations.   The amount you lost can easily be written off by a competent manager.

If all diplomatic dealings with the company happens and they blacklist you in the credit industry, there is always the media: Channel 2, 7, Isumbong Mo Kay Tulfo, etc.   Media elements usually gets good results but it you must always accomplish the preliminaries in good faith first.

Cheers!

thanks sa inyong mga replies. Ung isa sa nabasa ko sa female network forum ctibank naman at photocard pa pero nakalusot pa rin sa rustans nmn, over na talagang katangahan un ng cashier no. kapag talagang hindi naresolve to sa maayos na usapan ilalpit ko talaga sa media. naghahanap na din ako abogado, di baleng mgastusan wag lang mpunta sa mga buwaya. i've send a complaint sa bsp & dti pero as expected palgi pinagpapasa-pasahan lang. kakainis.

Hi, I symphatize with your situation...kahit sino naman tamaan ng ganyang kamalasan talagang mag-ngingitngit sa galit.

The problem with your situation is that under the "fine print" provisions of the terms and conditions of your credit card applications with your bank, you are deemed to have expressly agreed to be held liable for any unauthorize use of your card until the time you have communicated with the bank the lost of it.

So legally, sa side ng bank or credit card company talagang  pwede nila idemand payment.

Your best defense is that, in case the bank use this provision against you, is to point out that that provision is tantamount to a "contract of adhesion" which is usually frowned at by the courts.  You really need competent legal advise regarding this matter.

Your credit standing may potentially suffer damage in case you decide to delay or not to pay at all that contested transaction bill.
