kahit na nasa mall, maghanap pa rin kayo location inside or within the vicinity of the mall.. if u notice, there are actually some food carts that have 2-3 branches inside 1 mall.. so i dont really believe that food carts have no business inside malls.. some of them have even been operating for 5 years or more..u have to study talaga the feasibility study, take calculated risks..

Hello,

Ask yourself: will you rather buy Hamburger at McDonald's or at Mang Donald?  When going into the foodcart business, it is always a big risk not to have an established brand.  When I say established, I mean foodcarts that people will go to just because of the name.  If you are going to put up a food cart in the malls, you must make sure that it is in the right place in the mall and it is the food that people wants to eat while in that area.  The choice of malls also needs to be considered you might be selling a product mostly for the low-end markets in a mall made for the posh markets.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Gerel

i still think if pinagaaralan mabuti, you'll be more likely to succeed kasi super dami ng food stalls sa sm na malakas and so malakas na they are in all sm malls diba, like henlin nag grow, look at paotsin...

sm fairview is a pretty busy sm kasi crowds from qc, north caloocan, nova, bulacan frequent this branch.  just look at waffle time sa sm fairview, super sulit.  di naman siguro kailangang 8k agad salary ng magbabantay, malaki yan ha!

hi guys,

This would be my first venture in business, sabi kasi nila basta pagkain wala kang lugi. Should I pursue in going to malls or other locations. If other locations, saan kaya maganda?

thanks.  :)

I'm still aspiring to put up a food cart inside a mall because of a friend who's still enjoying the success of her business for 10 years now.

Sarili nila yung concept, not a franchise.  2 yung nagbabantay but their pay is nowhere near 8k.  average daily sales nila ranges from 5-7k. pag weekends, definitely higher ang sales, may times na do-double pa!  SM gets a  percentage from their monthly GROSS sales.  7 years ago, sabi nila it's 15%.

Nung bago pa lang yung business, malaki na rin yung cash out nila but my lucky friend happens to have a very supportive dad who financed everything  during the start up of the biz.

I guess it really boils down to having the right location and the right product and ofcourse, making sure that you place your biz dun sa target market mo.

I'm still doing my research.  Honestly, I don't have enough money yet to try getting into SM.  I'm actually considering Robinsons and I've been inquiring in some schools too.

Sample ko na lang ang sarili ko ha!, last month I acquired a franchise ng isang foodcart, then yung mismong management ng foodcart na yun ang sumulat sa SM para sa aking foodcart a day after tumawag ang management ng foodcart advised to prepare all the document which needed by SM like Permits, DTI, BIR all the governmental requirements after that, well I can say  I'm blessed (hindi kasi ako naniniwala sa LUCK eh) dahil mag o open na kami sa October 16 so wala pang isang buwan di ba.

FOOD TRUCK OR FOOD CART MOVE IT AROUND THE DIFFERENT METRO MANILACITIES
« Reply #27 on: October 14, 2012, 03:16:09 am »
I WILL TELL YOU THIS TO PINOY ENTREPRENUER:

FOOD CART BUSINESS IS MOBILE BUSINESS

YOU CANNOT DEPEND ON MALL TRAFFIC

THE BEST WAY TO SUCCEED ON THIS A MOBILE FOOD TRUCK

THEN YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE YOU WANT FACTORY, CONSTRUCTION JOB SITE, OFFICE, FIESTA NG MGA BARANGAY AND MANY MORE

GET A FOOD TRUCK IF GOT THE MONEY
IF NO MONEY THEN FOOD CART ATTACH IT TO  A PICK UP TRUCK-JEEPNEY  OR CAR

PARK IT AND START SELLING YOUR DIMSUM / FRIED RICE /HOT DOG / CRISPY CHICKEN JOY N MORE

THATS WHAT I WILL DO IF I WANT FOOD BUSINESS AFTER I RETIRE FROM LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY RENT TO SM MALL  - JUST GET CITY PERMIT TO ALL THE CITY YOU WILL BE PARKING YOUR FOOD CART OR FOOD TRUCK

Food truck business is one of the toughest in terms of taxation. If you park your food truck (to sell) somewhere in Pasay, would you pay the whole year business tax in Pasay? Would you do the same if you're selling in Makati? Quezon City? Marikina? This is one big issue that up to now hasn't been resolved. Have you seen Food Trucks operating in the Metro? I rarely see one. This idea is really-really good but in reality is hard.
You might even get towed if you'll park it in a very busy road.

I saw a Greenwhich Food Truck inside the SM Southmall parking lot, but never saw someone buy, why? Greenwhich is just a few meters away and there's a dine in table, airconditioned dining place and the comfort of it all. Why would u buy the pizza in an open and hot parking lot? Do you think the parking lot is offered for free? SM is very business savvy, it won't be for free parking. The Greenwhich Food Truck is no longer there.
