2 savvy ways to use your business cards

It can make or break a deal
By Entrepreneur Staff |

Did you know that your business cards are actually your first marketing tools? With your card, a prospective buyer or client gets to see a glimpse of what you have to offer and whether it suits his taste or not. asked Tina Alejandro, co-owner of Papemelroti, two questions about the business card and here is what she said:

When is it proper  to give away one’s business cards in a networking event?
“Don’t hand out your cards right away. Strike a conversation and develop a familiarity with your prospect first. Then give him your card and ask him to call you some time if he has questions about your business. Ask for his card and after a week or two, call him and invite him for coffee.”

How does one create a business card that leaves a lasting impression?
“A business card must reflect your company’s identity and image. It must have a well-designed logo that really says who you are and what you’re about. For instance, if your company is a fun company, it should have fun fonts. Bold colors convey valor; dark, somber colors convey seriousness. One look at the logo should be enough to tell people your kind of service or business.”
