5 new tablets for entrepreneurs

The popularity of tablets has reached new levels last year, eclipsing consumer and business demand for other electronic devices.
By KC Calpo |

The popularity of tablets has reached new levels last year, eclipsing consumer and business demand for other electronic devices. It certainly looks like tablet sales for enterprise use (company-issued or as a result of the global Bring Your Own Device or BYOD trend) will continue to go up, with Gartner predicting the sale of 13 million units in 2013 and as much as 53 million units by 2016.[1]

It may also be an obvious point, but it still has to be said: Apple may be the dominant brand in the tablet realm, but people are now also considering tablets made by other tech companies. And aside from brand name and specs, entrepreneurs prioritize other things like size, durability, lower price points, the product\\\'s handling of crucial work tasks alongside media consumption.

We came up with a short list of tablets that help you accomplish anything during and beyond office hours, and are well below or a bit above our self-imposed P20,000 price cap. On the OS front, four of these mobile devices run on Android, and one is on iOS. (We hope that in the future, we get to add affordable mobile devices running on Windows 8, and even units that have Ubuntu for tablets!)
