The Philippines takes the spotlight as Amway, a global direct selling company, marks for the second consecutive year its special day for holding a series of fun run activities in Manila, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao City.
Dubbed as ‘1k@Amway Fun Run 2014, powered by Nutrilite,’ the series of fun runs will commence on January 26, 2014 at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. It will show how Amway has always focused on supporting the well being of its Independent Business Owners (IBO). This program will also serve as kick-off activity for Nutrilite’s 80th Anniversary celebration this year, in hopes to raise the importance and value of taking good care of your health and nutrition.
Registrants may choose to run 1k, 5k, or 8k. Other than Metro Manila, the race will also be held at Cagayan De Oro City on February 9, 2014 and Davao City on February 16, 2014.
Awareness about health and nutrition
Amway Philippines Country Manager Leni Olmedo explained that Amway Philippines is a multi-level direct selling company that provides promising business and income opportunities to its IBOs. “The1K@Amway run is now on its second year and the main aim of this fun event is to raise awareness about the low cost, low risk business opportunity being offered by Amway,” Olmedo said.
She added, “1K stands for P1,000, which stands for the registration fee to become an Amway business owner. As an Independent business owner, you get support from one of the largest and most successful direct selling companies in the world; you get access to high quality global brands, free corporate support, training programs and business tools, and the opportunity to achieve success and income on your own terms. Just recently, Enchong Dee joined us as one of our newest IBO, after more than a year of promoting our biggest brand, Nutrilite as its brand ambassador.”
However, Olmedo stressed that the fun-filled run activities is open not only to IBOs but to non-IBO participants and running enthusiasts as well. A portion of the registration fee will be donated to Amway’s One by One campaign.

According to Amway Marketing Manager Dulce Ricafort, highlighting the 1k@Amway Fun Run 2014 is the company’s flagship brand, Nutrilite, the only global vitamin and mineral brand to grow, harvest, and process plants on its own certified organic farms.
“This year’s second edition of the run is bigger and grander. We have so many special prizes at stake for the winners, to include freebies and samplers,” Ricafort added.
