They're useful and durable, too!

There's a lot that goes into the decor that you want for your home. There are plenty of options to choose from, especially when you have a little bit of everything. You might have pieces that look modern, while some might look old-fashioned. Sometimes, all you need is something simple that would match what you already have.

Whether your current decor is sleek and sophisticated or rustic and vintage, local store Mori finds a way to fit your aesthetic. What started out as a small project for a husband and wife is now a brand that creates wooden home accessories that may seem simple but are useful and durable.

In an interview with SPOT.ph, owner Akiko Sumulong shares the inspiration behind their designs. "They primarily highlight the beauty of the woodâits grain, color, and strength. We then give it certain functions to make it more meaningful," she says. "I wasn't really a fan of things that don't make sense or aren't functional so I made sure that this belief is reflected in our products."

Aside from making functional designs, they also make sure that the materials they use are sustainable by sourcing their wood from a supplier certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. "This means that our wood are from responsibly managed forests to ensure sustainable use of timber," she explains.

They create pieces that they themselves use at home and they hope that customers would find a use for them, too. Check out some items from their shop:
