The eastern coast of the country was included in the list of possible areas that can be hit by the tsunamis generated by the magnitude 8.9 earthquake that hit the northern island of Japan, Honshu.

With most communities in the country situated in coastal areas, given the country’s archipelagic geography, a lot of lives and businesses are in danger should a tsunami hit the country.

Entrepreneur.com.ph listed down several telltale signs that a tsunami is approaching a coastal area, warning signs that entrepreneurs should be very vigilant on and evacuate the area as soon as possible.

• Sudden Low Tide
In most cases, a tsunami is preceded by a noticeable fall in the water level. Any unusual movement in the sea, ocean, it is a strong sign that a tsunami is approaching. Immediately evacuate to high grounds. Experts believe that a receding ocean may give people as much as five minutes\\\' warning to evacuate the area.
