Despite the many career opportunities coming his way then, Richard Sanz took the risk when he was 23. At that young age, he gave up his job in a multinational firm to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. He was an engineer by profession but he decided to put up a totally different business.
Sanz started with P120,000 as capital. He set up a small beverage kiosk named Tea Square in Alabang Town Center in 2004. The business has been selling a variety of natural iced tea, milk tea, and bread snacks. (It still exists today.)

It was then that he consulted his family and they came up with a unique idea--to sell their favorite native cake. Thus, in 2006, Bibingkinitan was born. As cute as its name sounds, the business serves mini-sized yummy bibingka, a soft and moist cake made from 100% rice flour locally known as galapong.
For just P50, customers can experience a delightful treat of Bibingkinitan’s combo---BibiKape (a piece of small bibingka served with a cup of strong brewed kapeng barako or Batangas coffee). Customers may also try its variety of flavors. You can select from macapuno (mixed with sweetened coconut strips), pastillas (blended with caramelized sugar and milk), ube (garnished with heaps of water yam jam), and crunchy peanut butter (loaded with crunchy peanut).
And of course, the menu wouldn’t be complete without the bestseller, the Original Bibingkinitan. This bibingka is generously topped with sliced salted egg and cheddar cheese. No doubt, the Original Bibingkinitan is by far the top pick among bibingka lovers.
The bite that sells
Aside from selling truly Pinoy sweets and treats, Bibingkinitan shares its success by providing other Filipinos with business opportunities and jobs. The business offers reasonable options for interested franchisees who want to get into a profitable venture.
The company offers franchised carts at varying prices: P500,000 for a 4-square meter cart; P700,000 to P900,000 for a 6 to 20-square meter kiosk/counter; and P900,000 to P1,200,000 for a 20 to 40-square meter in-line store.
