For the past 10 years, DJ Nicole Hyala of 90.7 Love Radio has reigned as the queen of morning FM radio because of her cheeky humor. But fear of the future keeps this 34-year-old radio celebrity on her toes. “It’s better that, as early as now, I am looking at other options where I can get extra income,” confesses the DJ, Emmy Gaite-Tiñana in real life.
Even if she’s already juggling multiple jobs—as a DJ, events host, recording artist, product endorser, and voice-over talent—Hyala also manages two Peanut World outlets with her husband, Renly Tiñana. For their first outlet in Star City, they invested P250,000, which they recouped within six months. “The products are not really that hard to sell—everyone likes peanuts,” she says.
Hyala met Josephine See, franchisor of Peanut World, at a franchise expo she and her husband attended. It’s an opportunity they did not pass up. “No questions asked, when we got home, my husband and I said, ‘Let’s pursue this’,” she recalls.
And Hyala is not shy using her radio show to plug the brand—she frequently brags on-air, “masarap ang mani ni Nicole Hyala.”
While Hyala is eyeing another Peanut World outlet—this time in Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna—she and her husband are also on the lookout for other franchises.
