The Philippine Franchise Association was formed in February 1995 to organize the growing number of homegrown and foreign franchisers here. Indeed, this pioneering group has spurred the growth of franchising in the Philippines, bringing the total to over 800 concepts today from only 45 when it started.
It spearheaded the development of the Fair Franchising Standards in the Philippines, and it worked to professionalize the industry after growing it. The group has more than over 150 members in the food, retailing, and service sectors including allied services and suppliers. And more and more entrepreneurs are embracing franchising because of its 97 percent success rate.
Membership in the PFA is a seal of good housekeeping in the franchise community. PFA members are able to network and retrieve strategic information, join international franchise shows, and gain access to financing facilities through our partnerships with the Small Business Guarantee Finance Corp., Export Industry Bank, and the Development Bank of the Philippines.
The group also works to improve best practices by adopting the Fair Franchise Standards as well as self-regulate to protect and enhance the image of the Philippine franchise sector. Every year, the PFA comes out with The Philippine Franchise Industry Study—now considered the franchise community’s handbook.
Through annual international expos, franchisers and franchisees learn the latest trends, updates, and business strategies in franchising here and abroad.
