CMO Mobile Summit tackles the importance of mobile marketing

The number of smartphone users in the Philippines is constantly on the rise. According to a study conducted by On Device Research–a research company that gathers statistical data on mobile devices–smartphone users in the country is expected to reach the 50% mark in 2015 from 15% this year. This can be attributed to the fact that local brands such as Cherry Mobile and MyPhone release their own versions of smartphones at lower price.

Consequently, brand managers and marketers should start familiarizing themselves with mobile marketing. The recently held CMO Mobile Summit–-the country’s only conference for mobile marketing–-was aimed at teaching entrepreneurs about ways to utilize mobile media as tools for marketing. It was also an opportunity to understand more about building brand awareness and creating business opportunities in mobile in addition to creating customer loyalty.

The event was held last November 19, 2014 (Wednesday) at the Enderun Colleges in McKinley Hill, Taguig City. It was attended by high-ranking company executives and marketing officers representing the big brands like Facebook, Spotify, McDonalds, and Smart Communications, among others.

The speakers for the conference included Google Philippines head of industry sales Jacob Zachariah, Spotify Asia sales director Jonathan Nadiranto, Lazada head of online marketing Tristan de Belloy, Smart Communications first vice-president Leah Besa-Jimenez,  and SSI Group chief innovations officer Reuben Ravago.

Donning the theme “Making Mobile Work,” the event featured different topics that revolved on the trends and opportunities of mobile marketing as well as the challenges that brand managers and advertisers face.

In participation with Entrepreneur Philippines, the Philippine Association of National Advertisers, Mobext, and the International Institute of Digital Marketing among others, the event aimed to give marketers and entrepreneurs the chance to understand more about building brand awareness and creating business opportunities in mobile in addition to creating customer loyalty.
