The New Year brings with it a host of fresh challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurs and their small businesses. For those who want to get a little boost for their business with the help of feng shui, heed these tips from feng shui expert Master Hanz Cua on how to attract good fortune for your business for the coming year.

1.    2016 is the year of the Fire Monkey. Placing money charms, especially those bearing the monkey image, inside your office or other places of business is believed to attract good fortune.

2.    The Fire Monkey is the ninth zodiac in the feng shui calendar, with the number 9 being the highest figure in numerology, signifying wealth gain and expansion for businesses. Those in the technology, software, and food industry are expected to have an abundant year.

3.    The Fire Monkey’s energetic demeanor, however, is also set to bring in some unexpected outcomes. Cua suggests that business owners prepare backup plans for their every new endeavor for the coming year.

4.    If you still don’t own one, Cua suggests placing a money cat in your business establishment, preferably near the cashier, in order to attract more sales. Cua notes that almost every business establishment in Metro Manila already has one, especially the Chinese restaurants.

5.    Place a citrin, which is a yellow stone, inside your cash box to invite a steady flow of income for your business.

6.    Installing bright lights by the lobby of your offices or your business establishments is believed to activate the money luck, adds Cua. The trick will work better if the lobby or the openings installed with bright lights are in the south, southwest, or west sector of the establishment.

7.    Putting a water fountain at the southeast, east, or southwest sector of your office or business establishment is also believed to activate good fortune. Here’s a quick tip: Cua suggests using the compass application on your smart phones and standing at the center of your office or business establishment to identify its different directional sectors.

8.    Lastly, donating to charity and sharing your good fortune is always a good idea even in feng shui, shares Cua.
