Food & Drinks Asia mounts its 18th expo together with Food Franchising Asia 2014

One of the most awaited annual food expos recently held its 18th event. Food & Drinks Asia 2014 was mounted simultaneously with Food Franchising Asia 2014 in a single venue.

<>The Food & Drinks Asia 2014: The 18th International Expo on Specialty Foods, Confectionery, Beverages, Beers, Wines and Spirits---with the co-located event Food Franchising Asia 2014: The 18th International Food Franchising and Business Exposition---opened its halls last September 4, 2014 (Thursday) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The event gave aspiring food and beverage entrepreneurs and franchisees the opportunity to expand their network by interacting with prominent businessmen from the industry. The exhibitors showcased their products and services to the attendees. The latest in food innovation and technology were shared as well.

Meanwhile, fresh business ideas, interesting franchising concepts, and other business solutions were the co-located event Food Franchising Asia 2014’s contribution.

Prominent speakers from several Philippine food and beverage associations opened the two-in-one event. They delivered their respective speeches about the local and global economic status of the industry.

FADA_1.pngThose speakers included Senator Sonny Angara, Department of Agriculture undersecretary for Livestock Jose Reaño, Philippine Association of Supermarkets, Inc. president Carlos Cabochan, and Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. president Dr. Sergio Ortiz-Luiz, Jr., among others.

Other special activities were organized for the attendees. In partnership with the Hotel & Restaurants Chefs’ Association of the Philippines (HRCAP), Chef’s Culinary Showdown was staged to showcase participants’ food and culinary expertise.

The second day (September 5) was a much-awaited day for mixers and bartenders as the 5th Philippine Mixology Cup and Flair Tending Challenge was held to display participants’ skills in preparing and concocting their specialty drinks and beverages.

On the third day (September 6), aspiring chefs from different culinary schools and training centers around the country waged in a cooking battle ‘Food & Drinks Asia Cooking Challenge 2014’ with the theme ‘International Cuisine with Mystery Ingredient.’ Judged by celebrity Chef Boy Logro and the ‘Adobo’ Queen Nancy Lumen, the winning team bagged the 3rd Chef Bert Francisco Culinary Cup.

The event also mounted business seminars and product demos for the registered visitors.
