For the first time since she debuted as a pop artist in the 1990s, Grammy-award winning artist Britney Spears is finally coming to Manila to perform this Thursday, June 15, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The demand for the pop star’s concert is so strong that its promoter, Wilbros Live, opened new sections on June 1 to accommodate more viewers. Tickets were already sold out for the Patron Standing and General Admission sections as of June 13, a sign that Filipino fans of the "Baby One More Time" and "Toxic" singer are quite willing to spend for concert tickets that are one of the highest in recent years.
Seats to Spears’ show range from Php28,350 for SVIP to Php2,625 for Gen Ad. That’s the third highest-priced concert tickets since 2011, after Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour in February 2016, tickets for which were sold at Php57,750 to Php3,150. Classical quartet Il Divo ranks second, with tickets to their concert in 2014 costing Php32,100 to Php8,320. (See infographic)
