Geoffrey Prentice, co-founder of instant messaging app Skype and of Atomico Investment Holdings Limited, as well as CEOs of innovative Philippine companies, will address the 54th Annual Conference of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) on October 11 and 12 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City, the association announced in a press statement.
Considered the country’s leading organization of HR experts, PMAP said it expects the jam-packed two-day conference to gather some of best thought leaders in people management in the country to discuss the theme “Disruptive HR in a Digital and Borderless World.”
The theme will focus on three elements: (1) Disruptive HR, (2) Digital and (3) Borderless (Global / Regional). The conference’s seven plenary sessions and 24 concurrent sessions will cover the three sub-themes.
The plenary sessions will feature CEOs and chief HR officers from global and local organizations that are considered to be disrupting their respective industries. The first session will address the topic “Staying ahead of the curve amidst global disruption.”
Apart from Prentice, other speakers in the initial session are: Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, President and COO, Summit Publishing Group; Rogelio Singson, CEO of Light Rail Manila Corporation; and Edwin Bautista, president and CEO, Union Bank of the Philippines. The second session, featuring chief HR officers, will tackle the topic “Reinventing HR for the future.” The panellists include: Sarab Preet Singh, country HR officer, CITI; Nicasio L. Lim, SVP, corporate resources group, JG Summit Holdings, Inc.; and Mitzie Antonio, human resources director-SVP, Nestle Philippines, Inc.
Other plenary topics include artificial intelligence and robotics: fool-proofing borderless organizations; technologies and processes: winning in the digital era; future of work: learning from young leaders; and positioning HR as an innovative disruptor in organizations.
Meanwhile, the concurrent sessions will offer a variety of topics that will focus on three themes: Core HR – visceral and direct-to-the point perspectives on the HR imperatives; Future of work – blowing the doors wide open to imminent change and endless possibilities; and HR Disruption – harnessing potent tools in effective people management in the digital and borderless era.
