Dreaming of becoming your own boss someday is not that farfetched of a goal if you simply put your mind into it. Attending business seminars or networking nights can be a great opportunity for up-and-coming entrepreneurs out there to learn more about the know-how in establishing a business.
The iAcademy School of Continuing Education held its ‘Startup Brew: Transitioning from Employee to Boss’ seminar last September 26, 2014 (Friday) at the iAcademy Plaza (formerly Mondragon Building) in Makati City. It was mounted in partnership with Entrepreneur Philippines.
Executive director for Continuing Education Jordan Imutan and marketing manager Grace Paat-Quizon facilitated the lecture, which catered to interested individuals who are planning on building their own company. The main speaker for the event was Youphoric Labs CEO and prominent technopreneur Ann Jacobe.
She discussed the opportunities of entrepreneurship in the world of computer and technology. She also shared some of her personal experiences as a striving entrepreneur to the participants, citing the challenges she faced from being a single mom to founding her first enterprise more than a decade ago.
Additionally, the event became a venue for aspiring businessmen to build their network and interact with other hopefuls, sharing their small business ideas and business tips.
Keeping true to their vision of honing the skills of future entrepreneurs, iAcademy will continue to facilitate a number of seminars this coming October. The Business Canvass Model lecture will be held on October 4, 2014 (Saturday). Participants will learn how to create their own business model for the duration of the extensive discussion. On October 25, 2014 (Saturday), it will focus on funding and maximizing initial capital to learn how to steer clear of common mistakes when starting a business.
Information and Communications Technology Academy, better known as iAcademy is a private, non-sectarian college that offers specialized degree programs in computer science, business administration, and software engineering, among others.
