Lady Christine’s Baby Back Ribs opens its SM Lipa City branch

Lady Christine’s Baby Back Ribs opened its franchised store in SM City Lipa in Batangas with a bang. was invited to the inaugural event of the restaurant branch.

It was a typical payday Friday night (August 29, 2014) when Lady Christine’s Baby Back Ribs formally inaugurated and opened its branch in SM Lipa City in Batangas. Amid torrential rains across the city, people came to witness the opening of the new restaurant, the first of its kind in the mall. After the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, restaurant co-founder Dr. Joebert Gimeno and the store franchisee, Robby Reventar with his wife Mary Ann, welcomed the guests and the first set of diners to the newest branch of the restaurant.


To kick off the fun activities the crew of the restaurant rendered an energetic dance number, which delighted the guests, the diners, and the program participants. Two local emcees took over the stage to start the well awaited eating challenges.



As part of the small tradition of the restaurant chain when opening new locations, Hungarian Sausage Eating and Party Slab Eating challenges were held to further entertain the first set of clients of the new store. All contestants were pre-screened and were subjected to basic medical checkups a couple of hours before the event to make sure they are healthy enough for the contest.

For the first challenge, three students from the De La Salle University, Lipa signed up. Each of them was served with four pieces of Hungarian sausage (from the menu) and a tall glass of smoothie. The mechanics was simple: first to finish all four sausages and the glass of fruit shake wins.

The main event followed---the Party Slab Eating Challenge, wherein another set of contestants had to consume 1.2 kilograms of baby back ribs and a glass of smoothie each. Amazingly, the winner was able to finish his set in less than 10 minutes. He seemed to enjoy every bite of the tender meat, topped with unique signature sauce that makes Lady Christine’s Baby Back Ribs popular among diners.



Before the program ended, the two winners were formally awarded with cash, gift certificates, and plaque of appreciation by Mrs. Reventar. Lady Christine’s Baby Back Ribs co-founder and marketing head Dr. Christine Eustacio gave her closing remarks to thank all the guests, customers, and program participants who made the store opening fun and memorable.

As the night ended, everyone in the store got busier as more Lipeños came in to try the latest talk of the town---the mouthwatering baby back ribs. The store was fully packed and it seemed that as the night got younger, more customers got more curious to find out what the newly opened restaurant has to offer.


A couple of weeks later, during the recent 'Entrepreneur Talks 2,' we got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Reventar again. They still could not hide their happiness and excitement over the overwhelming reception of the Lip a community to their new restaurant. Last we heard, Mr. Reventar is planning to get another franchise of Lady Christine's Baby Back Ribs for another location. 


Lady Christine’s Baby Back Ribs is set to open another franchised branch before September ends. This time, it will be in SM City Dasmariñas in Cavite.
