Robinsons Supermarket rolls out its 30th anniversary activities

One of the biggest supermarket chains in the country celebrates its 30th anniversary.

In 1985, a supermarket called Big R opened in Cebu Fuente. It was eventually renamed Robinsons Supermarket, the first location of what is now a 116-store supermarket chain. 

Thirty years after, Robinsons Supermarket is among the biggest and continuously growing supermarket chains in the country. Through the years, the brand has become a major choice for fresh and healthy food as it pioneered its health and wellness section, which up to this day is among the main segments that are frequented by loyal customers. 

The supermarket was among the first ones in the country to use a 4-color tag system, with its green tagged products having been evaluated and duly certified by the Food Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI). At the same time, it has also launched its “I Love Wellness” campaign, which serves as a testament to the business’ commitment to support healthy living. 

 


Apple-shaped health and wellness section
“We renovated our health and wellness section,” says Charm Canio, Robinsons Supermarket’s assistant marketing manager during the kick-off event of its 30th year celebration. The first apple-shaped health and wellness section was unveiled in its Robinsons Pioneer location in Mandaluyong City. 

The newly designed section is sponsored by Nestlé Philippines, which is also among the supermarket chain’s long trusted partners. This officially started the ’30 Fresh Years’ milestone celebration of the business. 

According to Canio, several other supermarket locations will follow suit soon, including those in Eastwood and Robinsons Place Ermita. This design would roll out to all other stores across the country in the coming months. 

 


Other anniversary-related activities
Not surprisingly, Robinsons Supermarket has also launched other activities as part of the celebration. First, it is currently holding its Family Fun Fair promo, wherein customers can participate in parlor games that are set up at various booths scattered across each supermarket. Those who will participate in the simple games can have the chance to instantly win prizes. 

Holders of Robinsons Rewards Card, on the other hand, would be entitled to various exclusive rewards and bonuses for the entire month of September. A one-day Thank You caravan will begin rolling this week to bring about fun and surprises.
