SMEs supercharged: Formidable trio further empowers entrepreneurs through modern technology

Out of more than 100 million Filipinos today, it is estimated that over 34 million are Facebook users, more than 10 million are Twitter followers, and around 44 million are regular Internet users. How can these data be useful to owners and managers of about 800,000 small and medium enterprises across the country?

Most business experts would assert that modern entrepreneurs should take advantage of the three most popular tools available today: the Internet, browsing gadgets, and the Cloud technology. The simultaneous use of the three can readily empower any small and medium enterprise (SME).

Thus, the forging of partnership among three industry giants is just timely and logical. In a recent event called ‘Growing Your Business in the Digital Age,’ a formidable team-up of three reputable technology firms was announced.

PLDT’s SME Nation has formed an alliance with Samsung Philippines and Microsoft Philippines to create more innovative solutions that would enable local businesses to operate better, grow at a faster rate, be more globally competitive, and effectively tap the growing social, digital, and mobile population.

Through this partnership, PLDT SME Nation (a unit of giant telecom firm PLDT), continues to assure and uphold premium and faster fixed and wireless broadband products that operate on the company’s sophisticated fiber and LTE network. It aims to provide entrepreneurs with unlimited online access to overcome the common setback of bandwidth throttling.

It will also utilize its robust network that boasts of the widest reach in the country---now also using satellite service to help make sure that businessmen will always enjoy the best and most reliable Internet service wherever they could be.

Lastly, its new broadband packages (fixed, wireless, and satellite) now comes with ‘supercharged’ flexible freebies, which include Cloud Solutions like Microsoft Office 365 and PLDT Cloud apps for asset tracking, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, video monitoring, infrastructure use, and more.

Further empowering SMEs

SMEs will be entitled to enjoy free and select from the latest offerings of smart devices, of course from Samsung. On the side would be availability of High Definition (HD) television content from satellite cable service provider Cignal.

Alberto added that this team-up should bring about improved operational efficiencies, higher profit margin levels, and expanded market research capability. He also expressed confidence that this will also “create higher economic multiplier for the country.”
