Co-working spaces are defined as “the use of an office or other working environment by people who are self-employed or working for different employers, typically so as to share equipment, ideas and knowledge.” It’s been gaining popularity in Metro Manila among SME owners, startups, and freelancers who simply need a space to work with access to internet and other facilities. Some of these spaces even entice people to go visit them or try them out for a day pass by offering unlimited coffee, invites to educational workshops and access to services that can help their business grow.

 

In Part 1 of this list, we explore the spaces located in Makati and Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

 

 

Makati City

 

1. A SPACE Greenbelt

A day pass for the co-working space at the lounge area starts at Php1,000 per day, inclusive of unlimited free-flow liquids including artisanal coffee, fast internet, access to facilities, balconies, dining room and lounge. They also have a kitchen which can be used to mount events or mixers for Php3,000 per hour and Php20,000 for eight hours, including manpower.

Their gallery which can accommodate 30 to 100 people can be rented for Php5,500 per hour and Php32,000 for eight hours of use, including manpower. It’s usually used for workshops, art exhibits, music gigs, etc.

2. Palet Express 

3rd to 4th Floors, Molave Building, 2231 Chino Roces Avenue


 

Lounge rates: A one-day pass is Php1,000 while a five-day pass costs Php5,000. A 20-day pass costs Php10,000 and all of these are inclusive of unlimited drinks like artisanal coffee, access to facilities like the pantry, meeting rooms and balcony lounge areas.

 

Dedicated desk rates: Php12,000 for a flexible one-month cowork club pass. No deposit, just pay in advance. Php10,500 per month for a three-month co-work club pass. Upfront payment required. No deposit. Php9,000 per month for a 12-month cowork club pass. Requires a refundable deposit equal to one month. All of these rates are inclusive of a dedicated desk or workstation and an ergonomic chair, personal lockable storage, access to co-work lounge, facilities, and the balcony, and a fair-use of meeting rooms. You also apply for membership to A SPACE so you can get access to events.

 

Private office rate: It costs Php102,000 for teams of 12 to 15, inclusive of internet access, utilities, drinks like water, tea, coffee and juice, printing services, an address for business registration, fair use of meeting rooms, access to all areas and flexible access to all A SPACE locations.

 

Perfect for: Tech teams, creatives and digital professionals who are comfortable in a warehouse-style concept space that has a roof deck, lots of plants and super high ceilings.

3. Penbrothers 

5th to 6th Floors at the OPL Building, 100 Palanca Street Legaspi Village and 11th Floor Chatham House Condominium, V.A. Rufino Street corner Valero Street, Salcedo Village


 

Use of their dedicated desk costs Php620 per day and Php8,700 per month. For their meeting room good for eight to 10 people in the Legaspi branch, it’s Php750 per hour, minimum two hours, and it includes access to WiFi, LED TV with connection to laptop, and a whiteboard. For their Salcedo branch, their meeting room that can fit five people is only Php500 per hour, minimum two hours, and includes access to WiFi and a whiteboard. The meeting room that can fit six to eight people is P750 per hour, minimum two hours, with the same inclusions as the Legaspi Village branch.

 

The Playground is an events space at Penbrothers located in their Legaspi branch which can be rented for events and can accommodate 40 to 60 people. It’s Php4,000 for one hour, Php10,000 for three hours, and Php20,000 for eight hours. These prices are VAT-exclusive, but amenities such as seats and tables, projector and screen, WiFi, corkboard, kitchen counter and free-flowing coffee are part of the package.

 

Perfect for: New businesses who just want to focus on running their business and do away with management chores. Penbrothers also offers human resources and payroll services.

4. Acceler8 Coworking Manila

A co-working pass starts at Php550 per day, while a dedicated desk or private room starts at Php15,000 per month. Their event space starts at Php5,000 per hour, while their virtual office is Php750 per month. Meeting rooms start at Php675 per hour. Amenities include coffee, tea and fruit-infused water, and free guest reception services, among other things. There’s also a members-only discount on healthcare, web hosting, accounting, legal and incorporation services, cafes, clubs and more.

5. O2 Space Solutions a.k.a. Optimal Office Space Solutions 

Unit 330, Milelong Building, Amorsolo Street corner V.A. Rufino Street


 

Half-day workstations start at Php448 for four hours, inclusive of high-speed internet access, free-flowing coffee and access to a landline phone, while a full-day workstation starts at Php672 for eight hours, with the same inclusions.

 

Function rooms can be rented, too. They have rooms good for six, 20 and up to 50 people. Prices start at Php784 per hour. This package is inclusive of high-speed internet access, free-flowing coffee, projector with screen, whiteboard and marker, tables and chairs, and basic sound system.

 

Their serviced offices start at Php25,000 per month, which includes high-speed internet access, free-flowing coffee, a Makati business address, mail and parcel receiving, meeting room use and a business phone number. They also offer a virtual office which starts at Php1,200 per month which will give you a Makati business address and mail and parcel receiving.

 

Perfect for: Freelancers, startups who are looking for a personal touch and a friendly staff to work with.

6. The Office Project 

Ground Floor, Alpha Salcedo Condominium, Bautista Street, Salcedo Village


 

Members can enjoy the co-working space by paying just Php100 on their first hour. They can then get a 50 percent discount on succeeding hours. Regular rates are Php100 per hour, Php400 for students, Php500 fixed hour and Php600 flexi-hour for a day at their co-working space.

7. Warehouse Eight 

Warehouse 8-A, La Fuerza Plaza, 2241 Chino Roces Avenue


 

For a virtual monthly office, pay Php1,500 and you can use their location as your registered business address. This is also inclusive of 20 hours of use of co-working space and receiving of mail and parcels.

 

For their co-working Seats, their day rate starts at Php500, inclusive of WiFi, aircon, coffee and water, and 11 working hours. Their monthly rate is Php8,500 which can be used over a three-month period. The rate is inclusive of wi-fi, aircon, coffee and water, and 20 consumable working days.

 

You can also rent their private office of 10sqm, good for up to five people, for a monthly rate of Php31,500. A private office of 20sqm and can fit up to 10 people will cost you Php63,000 monthly. These packages are inclusive of wi-fi, aircon, electricity, tables and chairs, water and a telephone line. A private office of 40sqm can fit up to 24 people, and will cost Php120,000 monthly. It is inclusive of tables and chairs, electricity, wi-fi, aircon and telephone lines. Pay an additional Php1,000 for coffee and water.

 

Warehouse Eight also has event spaces. A space that can accommodate up to 50 people costs Php3,500 per hour and Php10,000 for four hours. It is inclusive of WiFi, aircon, pantry space, tables and chairs and one hour ingress and one hour egress, while an event space of up to 150 people goes for Php5,500 per hour and Php17,000 for four hours with the same inclusions. If you plan to rent these areas on weekdays, they will also give you 10 percent off.
