Taking inspiration from travel

Two sisters decide to bring their overseas experience home.

Sunrise Buckets specializes in authentic Buffalo chicken wings that are available in various interesting flavors.  Their best-seller is the smokin’ BBQ and original.

[related|post]It was inspired by the adventures of sisters Abigail Beatrice Co-Haw and Angeline Bridget Co in Miami, Florida, Bondi Beach in Sydney and Vancouver, Canada some time in 2008. During those trips, the sisters constantly craved for Buffalo Wings, and so they decided to bring that experience home with them.

“We started selling our Buffalo Wings by using just one fryer at the Rockwell Bazaar in October 2009,” relates Co-Haw. “As time went by, we had to increase our fryers to five because we could not cope with the demand. We even had to tell our customers to come back for their orders.”

With the business doing so well, the sisters decided that it was time to open their first outlet in November 2010 in Greenhills, San Juan City. The outlet was a reflection and collection of what they experienced in their trips abroad—sunset-type lighting, flat screen display of surfers showing off their moves, memorabilia and souvenirs for beach and surf lovers, wooden chairs and a bar area with a surfboard countertop.

“Everything I didn’t like about the other restaurants, we corrected here in Sunrise Buckets,” she says. “Our customers can stay here no matter how long they want and they can even take pictures in any corner of the restaurant. It’s a totally different concept that people will enjoy.”
